Shanghai: Chinese scientists have created a unique battery that has been successfully demonstrated to destroy cancerous tumors by depriving them of oxygen.
In this way solid tumors that cause breast cancer can be dissolved easily. A battery containing salt and water blocks oxygen from cancer cells or tumors. This condition is called hypoxia and thus the tumor starts to die quickly.
Scientists at China’s famous Fudan University have created this microscopic flexible battery that can be wrapped around tumors. After experiments on mice, it has revealed very surprising results. However, when mice were also given conventional drugs and the battery was applied, up to 90% of tumors disappeared within a short period of time.
The research is detailed in the March 31 issue of Science Advances. Interestingly, in just 15 days, the tumor was reduced by 90%, which normally takes a long time to disappear. According to the scientist Yong Yao Xia and his colleagues, this method can be very helpful in providing targeted treatment. But dual therapy can be started by adding some drug to make the cancer drug more effective. The same method has been tested on cancer-prone mice.
The battery contains pure zinc (zinc) which gets its energy from the surrounding oxygen and dissolves the cancerous tumors. Although this research is in its early stages, the initial results are very promising.
