Riyadh: The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued instructions to pilgrims to avoid banking fraud.
According to the Saudi media, pilgrims from abroad are reaching Makkah in extraordinary numbers to achieve the happiness of Umrah this year.
Incidents of forgery and digital fraud have increased rapidly across the world, and in order to be safe from it, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued the following guidelines.
1- Be careful in downloading trusted banking apps.
2- Don’t give bank card pin and password information to anyone.
3- Use authentic means to transfer money.
4- Do not click on unknown messages and links received on mobile phones and social apps.
5- Report the fraud immediately to the bank and competent authorities.
In addition, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has requested pilgrims not to bring more than 60,000 riyals of money, gold, precious stones and other expensive items with them.
