Bird flu virus has been diagnosed in humans for the first time in Chile.

According to a foreign news agency, the Ministry of Health of Chile has said that bird flu was confirmed in a 53-year-old man, who has severe symptoms of influenza.

The Ministry of Health says that the condition of the person affected by bird flu is better.

Officials said they are investigating the source of the bird flu and who the patient came in contact with.

Experts say that like humans, birds and other animals are also susceptible to flu. There are 15 types of bird flu worldwide, of which the H5 and H7 types can be fatal.

In 2003, the bird flu disease spread in more than a dozen countries in the world, after which millions of birds were killed to prevent the spread of the virus.
