Turkish cardiologists have warned that staying hungry and thirsty for a long time, especially smoking immediately after iftar in Ramadan, increases the risk of heart diseases.
Recent studies have revealed that people who smoke immediately after breaking the fast experience physical tremors, dizziness, and tremors in the hands and feet.
They say that because smoking cigarettes after a long break disrupts the body’s immune system.
He further informed that smoking during Ramadan causes severe damage to the walls of blood vessels which is more than the damage caused during the rest of the year.
According to experts, some medical research shows that there is an increase in deaths due to heart diseases in Ramadan, the most common cause of which is smoking immediately after breaking the fast.
He stressed that one should take advantage of the month of Ramadan to start quitting smoking and benefit from the body’s habit of not using tobacco during the long hours of fasting.
