Lahore;  A case has been registered against 4 police officers for the death of a citizen under custody

Lahore: A case has been registered against 4 officials for the death of a citizen while in police custody, which includes murder and provisions of 155C.

According to the police, Sheikh Munir, a resident of Akram Park, worked as a junk dealer, who was detained by the Islampura police station on the charge of buying stolen goods. The accused was not tortured, Sheikh Munir suffered a heart attack. He was transferred to the hospital, but he died. According to the police spokesman, the investigation will be conducted keeping in mind all the aspects regarding the death of the citizen.

On the other hand, there is a protest against the police over the alleged death of 55-year-old Sheikh Munir while in custody. The family has alleged that Sheikh Munir was killed by violence. Traffic was affected on the closed road due to the protest, while Sheikh Munir’s body has been shifted to the Mayo Hospital mortuary.

Meanwhile, CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamiana took notice of the incident. He sought a report from the SP City and directed a full investigation including determining the cause of death, taking into account all aspects on the basis of medical report and evidence.

According to the police spokesperson, a case has been registered against 4 policemen, which includes murder and provisions of 155 C, on the protest of the relatives. The policemen Nadeem, Abrar, Umar Farooq and Waqas are named in the case.
