Brasilia: A Brazilian court has given former president Bolsonaro 5 days to return expensive gifts from Saudi Arabia.
According to the international news agency, Bolsonaro received 2 expensive diamond jewelries from Saudi Arabia during his presidency, worth 3.2 million and 75 thousand dollars.
These jewelery sets were seized at the customs by the then Minister of Minerals and Energy for his President Bolsonaro from Saudi Arabia and he was allowed to carry the jewelery only at the request of the President.
However, the president kept the jewelery instead of submitting it, as under Brazilian law, government officials can only keep personal gifts of the lowest value.
After the impeachment, the case reached the federal court.
The court ordered to deposit the jewelery as well as two valuable pistols of the UAE in the presidential palace, saying that 5 days are given to deposit the gifts.
