Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Najam Sethi has said that holding matches in Balochistan is important for national interest.

Speaking at the ceremony in Karachi, Najam Sethi said that Karachi is my old love, after the return of cricket in the country, the first international team that came to play the series came to Karachi.

He said that they cannot ignore Karachi under any circumstances.

He said that at the start of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Quetta bid had the lowest reserve price. The base price was set at 5 lakh dollars which Nadeem Umar matched.

Najam Sethi said that on my request, Nadeem Umar himself increased the price of Quetta to one million dollars. After Nadeem Umar, on my request, Peshawar and Islamabad also increased the price.

He also said that even when PSL was brought to Lahore there were many challenges. Darren Sammy from Peshawar said I will come, then other players also came.

Najam Sethi said that Quetta Gladiators had problems because of this, I will write a book on all these problems one day.

Chairman PCB Management Committee said that we want to tell the world that there should be cricket in Balochistan too, it is important for the national interest to have matches in Balochistan.

He also said that they are conducting exhibition matches before the PSL matches. An exhibition match will be played in Quetta on February 5. The stars of the national team will also play this exhibition match.

Najam Sethi said that some players are being called back from Bangladesh for this match, some players have recommended but the match in Quetta is important for us.

He said that when the stars of other franchises were included in these two teams, the franchisees had reservations, I request the franchisees to support us on this.

He also said that the exhibition match in Quetta is necessary in the national interest.
