Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is ready to captain in T20 series against Afghanistan.
Sources say that Shaheen Afridi has had a telephonic contact with Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Najam Sethi, in which he has been offered the captaincy as part of the plan to rest Babar Azam.
Sources said that Shaheen Afridi is ready to captain in the series against Afghanistan. Shaheen Afridi will be the captain if Babar Azam is rested in the series.
After asking for time, Shaheen Afridi gave a positive signal to Najam Sethi.
According to sources, PCB has not yet taken the final decision to rest Babar Azam, Chairman Selection Committee Haroon Rasheed will announce the T20 squad tomorrow in Lahore.
It should be noted that Saeem Ayub, Azam Khan, Ehsanullah, Imad Wasim are likely to join the squad.
Sources said that Shaheen Afridi has been contacted about the captaincy only for the T20 series against Afghanistan.
