The Pakistan Cricket Board is conducting exhibition women’s cricket matches in connection with the women’s league in Rawalpindi during PSL 8.
One match of the three-match series has been played at the Pindi Stadium, while the second and third matches will be played today and tomorrow.
Along with all the leading women cricketers of the country, 10 eminent foreign cricketers are also participating in the women’s exhibition matches.
This initiative of Pakistan Cricket Board is getting appreciation in the cricket circles and PCB is planning to have women cricket league in near future.
In women league matches, 2 female umpires are Salima Imtiaz and Humira Farah while the match referee is Muhammad Anees.
Cricket circles have pointed out that the Pakistan Cricket Board has neglected the first and only female match referee and if she was given the responsibility in these matches, it would have given recognition to the female match referee and removed her from this level of matches. would also get exposure.
Taman Zulfiqar was included in the Development Panel of Match Officials by the Pakistan Cricket Board in 2020, she holds the distinction of being Pakistan’s first female cricket match referee.
Tamman Zulfiqar has been overseeing the women’s matches at the domestic level but has been overlooked for the first time in the exhibition women’s matches with the Pakistan Super League, which is surprising.
Taman Zulfiqar said in an interview to Geo News a few months ago that his target is to perform the duties of a match referee in PSL and join the ICC panel.
