Police blocked the roads leading to Zaman Park
Lahore: The police arrested several PTI workers who came to Mall Road to participate in the Tehreek-e-Insaf rally.
There is a heavy police presence on Mall Road to stop the Tehreek-e-Insaf rally. All roads leading to Zaman Park from Canal Road were closed.
The Punjab Interior Department imposed Section 144 in Lahore and imposed a ban on public gatherings, processions and rallies. The ban was imposed in view of the poor traffic and security situation in Lahore, the implementation of which will start from today and will continue for the next 7 days.
The police closed the roads leading to Zaman Park and the road from Mall Road towards the canal was also closed.
The police detained several PTI workers for violating Section 144 and also broke the windows of the workers’ vehicles.
Clashes also took place between police and PTI workers. The police used shelling and water cannon to push back the PTI workers. PTI workers pelted stones at the police.
