US delegation meets IGKP, assures CTD of modern weapons

Peshawar: The American delegation met IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akhtar Hayat Khan at the Central Police Office Peshawar regarding the increasing incidents of terrorism and the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tribal areas.

A 6-member delegation of US Mission and International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) met Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akhtar Hayat Khan at Central Police Office Peshawar.

The delegation was led by US Ambassador Donald A. Bloom, other members of the delegation included US Consul General Panfilo Marquez of the Peshawar Consulate, INL Director Miss Laurie J. Antolins, Political Economy Section Chief Nick Katasakis, Peshawar Regional Director Stephen Marino and Program Coordinator. Ahsan Ali was included.

Provincial Police Chief Akhtar Hayat Khan informed the members of the delegation about the training programs provided to police department youths, the training provided to youths to develop the investigation on scientific lines, the counter-terrorism department to effectively deal with terrorism. Informed about the reorganization and upgradation and the measures of policing based on modern technology.

The police chief told the members of the delegation that in most of the police stations of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa separate women desks have been set up to hear and solve the problems of women who only listen to the problems of women and try to solve them as much as possible. are

The head of the delegation appreciated the police measures, especially the measures taken to deal with terrorism and asked the IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to construct various buildings required for the police in the province and to equip the police with modern equipment and tools and to meet the professional needs of the force. The IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa thanked the members of the delegation and reiterated his determination that no stone will be left unturned to bring the quality of policing in the province up to date and meet the expectations of the people.

The IGP also presented special souvenirs and Yagari police shields to the members of the delegation. Additional IGP CTD, DIG CTD and DIG Finance were also present on the occasion.
