The Sindh government has announced the Sindh Premier League to search for new cricket talent in the province.
Provincial Ministers Sharjeel Memon, Nasir Hussain Shah along with former Test cricketers Shahid Khan Afridi and Abdul Razzaq held a press conference at the Sindh Assembly Auditorium.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said that Sindh Premier League will get new talent of the province, efforts will be made to conduct league matches in every division.
He said that it is necessary to organize a league for new talent from Sindh, the teams of 6 divisions of the province will participate in the event.
Sharjeel Memon added that the first phase of 6 franchises will be held in Karachi in June, not only will support the league but will take its honor.
He said that this will be our own league. The second phase is expected to be held in Hyderabad. Along with the league, there is also a plan to build an academy.
Provincial Minister Nasir Hussain Shah said that along with the cricket league, Sindh will also build a cricket academy.
He said that PP chairman Bilawal Bhutto has taken the honor of the league, league matches should be held in Sukkur and Larkana also, the purpose of holding SPL is to bring out new talent.
Shahid Khan Afridi suggested that Sindh Premier League should be started from Sukkur or Hyderabad instead of Karachi.
He said that this province has given me a name, I belong to it, Sindh has talent for every sport, not just cricket.
Abdul Razzaq said that the plan of Sindh League is good, now it has to be implemented, this league will provide the best opportunity for young cricketers.
