Lahore: Anti-corruption Punjab, acting on a tip-off, recovered more than twelve and a half crore rupees from the house of former Agriculture Advisor Abdul Hai Dasti.
According to Express News, DG Anti-Corruption Sohail Zafar Chatta received secret information that there is a huge amount of commission of contracts and political bribes received from Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and Mons Elahi at the house of former Agriculture Adviser Punjab Government Abdul Hai Dasti.
On receiving the information, he assigned Additional DG Waqas Hasan to the case, who searched the house after obtaining a search warrant from the competent court, and found huge black money hidden in two safes in the form of local and foreign currency. It is more than twelve and a half crore rupees. It took several hours for the anti-corruption team to count the notes.
Officials claimed that the amount recovered consisted of commissions earned in various development projects and money given by Mons Elahi and Parvez Elahi during the antitrust. Investigation of the case is on and teams are active to arrest those involved.
