Polling for the by-election in National Assembly Constituency NA-193 Rajanpur is underway.
In the by-elections, there is competition between PTI’s Mohsin Leghari, PML-N’s Amar Owais Leghari, PPP’s Akhtar Hasan Gorchani and others.
Sensitive polling stations are being monitored with CCTV cameras and other modern devices.
According to the Election Commission, the polling time in NA-193 Rajanpur is from 8 am to 5 pm.
Regarding this by-election, the Election Commission has said that the total number of registered voters in the constituency is 3 lakh 79 thousand 204, of which the number of male voters is 2 lakh 6 thousand 495 and the number of female voters is 1 lakh 72 thousand 709.
According to the Election Commission, 237 polling stations have been established in NA-193.
Police personnel are on duty at the polling stations while 200 Rangers personnel are also on quick response force duty.
The Election Commission says that there are 11 candidates competing in NA-193, violation of the code of conduct or disruption of the election process will be dealt with strictly.
This seat in the National Assembly fell vacant after the death of PTI member Sardar Jafar Laghari.
It should be remembered that earlier the Punjab government had requested to postpone the NA-193 by-election.
The Punjab government had made the request in view of the law and order situation and threats.
The Election Commission had rejected the Punjab government’s request to postpone the by-election.
