Loud explosions were heard in the Karaj region near the Iranian capital Tehran on Thursday night, with an air defense system reportedly firing back.
According to initial reports, Iran activated its air defense system in the area after the blasts.
Iran’s official news agency says the blast and the activation of air defenses were part of a defensive exercise by the Revolutionary Guards.
In the video released on Twitter, it can be seen that the air defense system is firing at unknown targets.
This incident happened at a time when a few weeks ago suicide drones attacked a Revolutionary Guards facility in Isfahan.
Iran blamed Israel for the attack and claimed that there were no significant casualties.
