Residents of Gulistan-Johar area of Karachi started a protest near Kamran Chowrangi against the prolonged power outage.
Due to the protest, the traffic towards Johar Chowrangi and University Road was blocked.
Citizens staged a sit-in and set fire to both tracks of the main highway.
Tires were set on fire at several places, and police were called in for possible unrest.
