The girl told the court that she got married of her own free will
The Lahore High Court has ordered to take legal action against Nikah Khawan for arranging the marriage of an underage girl.
Justice Anwar-ul-Haq Pannu heard the petition against the marriage of Humira Bibi, a minor girl. The police presented the minor girl from Darul Aman to the court.
The petitioner took the position that the girl is 15 years old who has been forced into marriage, the case of abduction of the girl is registered in Shahdara.
Justice Anwar-ul-Haq Pannu asked the girl, “Son, did you get married of your own free will?” Humira replied that yes I have married of my own will.
The court inquired how old you are? . Humira replied that I am 15 to 16 years old.
The court ordered the judicial magistrate to decide the case. Justice Anwar-ul-Haq Pannu also remarked that prosecution should be filed against Nikah Khawan for marrying off a young girl.
