Gilgit: 20 people were killed and 21 injured when a passenger bus fell into a ditch on the Karakoram highway.
According to Express News, a passenger bus traveling from Rawalpindi to Gilgit fell into a ditch on the Karakoram Highway in Gunar Farm, killing 20 people and injuring several others.
More than 40 people were on board the bus belonging to the private transport company Marcopolo. After receiving the report of the accident, Rescue 1122 and other rescue teams took action and shifted the dead bodies and the injured to the nearest hospital, where a state of emergency has been imposed in the hospital and an appeal for blood has been made for the injured.
On the other hand, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has expressed deep sorrow and regret over the loss of precious lives in the bus accident.
According to the spokesperson of Gilgit-Baltistan government, the rescue operation has been completed after the bus accident. 20 passengers were killed and 21 injured in the accident.
