The Sindh government stopped the registration of 54 private schools

Karachi: The Department of School Education Sindh has started serious efforts for the first time to implement the law of 10% freeship in 12 thousand private schools of the province and in this regard Directorate Private Institutions Sindh has completed the inspection of more than 1 thousand schools and 54 Registration of private schools has been stopped.

These private schools were not giving 10% freeship on their total enrollment as per government law.

According to sources, these schools include HM Grammar School Clifton, Ali Akbar Grammar School Gulzar Hijri, Flying Color School PECHS, Arqam Public Secondary School FB Area and Happy Child Montessori Lucknow Society among other private schools in the city.

According to Additional Director of Directorate of Private Institutions Sindh, Rafia Javed, on the instructions of the Minister of Education and Secretary Education Sindh, inspection teams are visiting private schools to implement the 10% freeship law so that deserving students can get scholarships and freeships in their schools. can get the ship and this law can be implemented according to the original rules. Till now 1154 private schools of Sindh have been inspected where 2 lakh 52 thousand 273 students are studying and out of them 25735 students are being given freeship.

In this regard, the directorate has sent a preliminary report to the focal person of the school education department, Dr. Fawzia Khan, according to which the registration and renewal of registration of 54 private schools has been stopped. These schools have been told that registration will not be issued until their institutions comply with the 10% freeship law.

Further, other registered private schools have also been asked to comply with the law or else fines will be levied against them as further action along with suspension of their registration.

It should be noted that according to a notification issued by the Chief Minister House on April 1, Deputy Secretary Qasim Akbar has been appointed as the focal person by the Chief Minister House to implement the Sindh right to children to free and compulsory education act 2013 in private schools. For this, the Department of School Education Sindh will work as a liaison.
