Lahore: There is a possibility of unusual increase in heat intensity in Punjab this month.
According to the spokesperson PDMA, the intensity of heat will increase in the month of April and the temperature will be slightly higher than the average of the last 30 years. There are also chances of heatwaves in the plains of the province.
The forecast says that the effects of heat waves will be especially high in big cities. Strong winds, dust storms, torrential rain and hail are likely. Heavy rains in North Punjab may cause flooding in rivers.
The chances of landslides will also increase in hilly areas. The Irrigation Department has been informed about the weather situation. Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners across Punjab have also been informed about the situation.
On behalf of PDMA, DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia has issued instructions to the administration to remain alert on seasonal fluctuations.
DG PDMA has said that strong communication between the institutions should be made possible in all cases. All concerned organizations should prepare by keeping in mind the climatic changes. It is time to take precautionary measures to deal with natural calamities. Rescue organizations, district administrations, buckle up now.
