London: A new study has revealed that one in five people are using weight loss drugs without a doctor’s advice.
A study of 2003 people found that 29 percent of non-prescription drug users bought the drug from illegal websites, while 25 percent bought a prescription from someone else.24 A percentage of people used to buy these items from social media.
The study also revealed that 19 percent of people used to buy these drugs on the recommendation of celebrities.
Dr. Crystal Wylie, who led the research, said weight-loss drugs like Vigovi have important implications for patients who are overweight or have weight-related health conditions. But it is quite alarming to see so many healthy people surrendering their lives to these drugs (which should be reserved for genuine medical need).
