Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister-designate Maryam Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the violence committed by the police on an elderly woman in Taxila and requested the Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi to take action.
Maryam Nawaz contacted the caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi on the incident of police violence and requested to take immediate action on the incident and said that the incident should be investigated and action should be taken against those responsible.
Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has assured Maryam Nawaz that there will be an investigation into the said incident and action will be taken against the officers involved in the torture.
Maryam Nawaz expressed deep sorrow and regret over the violence of the police on the elderly woman and said that due to the meeting of the Punjab Assembly, I have just received the information about the incident, which is extremely saddened.
He said that such behavior of police brutality cannot be tolerated in any case.
