General Elections: Army troops leave for election duty in various districts

Lahore: For the peaceful conduct of general elections, Pakistan Army troops have left for election duty in various districts of Punjab.

According to Express News, for the peaceful conduct of general elections, armed forces of Pakistan Army have left for election security duty from Lahore, Multan, Okara, Bahawalpur and Gujranwala garrisons in other districts of Punjab.

The purpose of deployment of military forces is to support the civil government during the general elections to ensure the transparency of the electoral process and the law and order situation.

Military personnel will be deployed outside the polling stations for security duty on the third tier for security to deal with any emergency situation in time. Police will provide first-tier security while Civil Armed Forces will provide second-tier security during polling.
