Karachi: Sui Southern Gas Company has announced a 48-hour gas shutdown for all industries in Sindh, including their power generation units and CNG stations.
According to the SSGC spokesperson, gas supply to industrial units, captive power plants and CNG stations will remain closed from Sunday, February 4 at 8 am to Tuesday, February 6 at 8 am.
The spokesman says that due to the reduction in gas supply in the Sui Southern system, the availability of gas has decreased, the line pack has been damaged, resulting in a lack of pressure in the system.
OGRA has been authorized to effectively manage gas load for industrial consumers as per GSA approved Clause No. 14 and Federal Cabinet approved Sectoral Priority Order of ECC.
Under gas load management, all industries including their power generation units and all CNG stations in Sindh (including those running on RLNG) will remain closed for forty-eight (48) hours.
According to the spokesman, strict action will be taken against all industrial consumers who violate this gas shutdown period and gas supply to these consumers will be cut off for at least 7 days.
