Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Justice Ibrahim Khan has said that an attempt was made to link me to a political party by running a campaign against me on social media.

According to the details, the case was heard in Peshawar High Court on the issue of declaring the judiciary as a corrupt institution of Pakistan in the Transparency International Report.

Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Ibrahim Khan heard the case while Habib Hashmat, member of Transparency International Board, appeared in the court.

The Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court said that ‘I have no connection with any political party, a campaign was launched on social media against me and the court and an attempt was made to associate it with a political party while the court decides according to law’.

He said that ‘a political leader who belongs to Swabi was shown as my classmate on social media, someone prove to me that I have met him, the head of a political party threatened court decisions and then when When he was summoned in the contempt of court case, he apologized and then went out and criticized the court.

The Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court said that when we made a larger bench on this issue, he came forward and asked for unconditional forgiveness, and the court forgave him.

While questioning the representative of Transparency International, the Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court said that ‘How can Transparency International publish the court as the second corrupt institution in KP in the report based on the view, in the Transparency International survey, 80 percent of people declared the judiciary to be clean. .

During the hearing of the Transparency International Report case, Judicial Assistant Professor Niaz Hill University UK participated through video link and said that the population of KP is more than four thousand, only 1600 people were included in the survey, 54 survey forms were rejected. However, only 39 out of 1,546 said the judiciary is corrupt.

He said that ‘five people only said that we have bribed the judiciary, 780 people gave their opinion in the survey, it is not mentioned in the report, some things in the Transparency International report are based on assumptions and not facts’.

Habib Hashmat, a member of Transparency International, said that ‘we did not talk about mega corruption in the survey report, the report is based on public opinion, we will respond to the objections raised by the professor, this report should be provided to us’.

The Chief Justice said that ‘we want to find a solution to this issue and clean the judiciary 100%, you tell us and point out so that the court will take action against the corrupt people.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till 3 pm on February 19, directing the Member Transparency Board to submit the reply.
