Decision on appeal against rejection of nomination papers of Imran Khan reserved

Lahore: The court reserved the decision on the appeal against the rejection of the nomination papers of PTI founding chairman Imran Khan.

A three-member bench of the Lahore High Court, headed by Justice Ali Baqer Najafi, heard the appeal against the rejection of the nomination papers of PTI founding chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan.

During the hearing, the lawyer of the Election Commission argued that it is the authority of the Election Commission to delimit constituencies. It is a legal requirement that the endorser and the attestator be from the same constituency. The issue of endorser and verifier is in NA 122.

Imran Khan’s lawyer told the court that there is no such charge in NA 89 Mianwali.

Later, the court adjourned the hearing for some time. After the break, the Lahore High Court reserved its verdict on Imran Khan’s appeal against the rejection of his nomination papers from National Assembly Constituency NA-122 and NA-89.
