Lahore: A house was set on fire after 3 people were strangled to death in Shadab Colony in Chohang area.
According to Express News, a house was set on fire after a husband, wife and daughter were strangled to death in Shadab Colony in Chohang area. On the report of the fire, the police team reached the spot. The victims were identified as 50-year-old Iftikhar Hussain, his wife Samina, 47, and 30-year-old daughter Iram Shahzadi.
According to the police, the three persons were first strangled to death and to cover up the murder, they set fire to it by sprinkling petrol. A case has been registered against Waqar Hussain, son of deceased Iftikhar Hussain, under other provisions including murder.
SP Sadar Division Sudra Khan said that the plaintiff Waqar was married to a woman named Farah in Rawalpindi. Farah had a daughter Alina from her first husband. Farah and Alina Chohang came to the Shadab Colony house with another accused Arsalan.
The three committed the murder together and then set fire to it by sprinkling petrol. Valuable items were also stolen from the house, the footage of which has come to light.
SHO Chowhang Inspector Nasir Hameed says that in the light of the footage and other evidence, the accused Alina and Farah involved in the murder were arrested, who were interrogated and told about the accused Arsalan. The accused Arsalan had fled to Okara after the incident.
On the instructions of DIG Operations Lahore Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, under the supervision of SP Sadar Division Sudra Khan, the police also arrested the third accused from Okara. According to police sources, this incident of murder occurred due to domestic violence, but further investigation is ongoing.
