Bangladesh defeated New Zealand by 5 wickets in the first T20 match.

In the match played in Napier, New Zealand scored 134 runs for 9 wickets while batting first.

In reply, Bangladesh achieved the target in 18.4 overs. Opener Liton Das remained unbeaten on 42 runs.
