3 wicket keepers have been included in the Pakistan squad for the five T20 matches in New Zealand.
Along with experienced wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, Sahibzada Farhan and Azam Khan have been included in the squad.
Sahibzada Farhan, the top scorer of the recently concluded domestic T20 in Karachi, who scored 492 runs at an average of 44.73 in 12 matches for Peshawar Region, has now been selected again for Pakistan after five years.
The 27-year-old wicketkeeper and right-handed opening batsman has scored 40 runs in 3 T20 matches for Pakistan.
Apart from Farhan, who scored four centuries, Azam Khan is the third wicket-keeper in the national squad selected for the tour of New Zealand.
25-year-old Azam Khan, son of former Test captain Moin Khan, has scored 7 runs in 5 T20 matches for Pakistan.
According to sources, fast bowler Amir Jamal, who took 6 wickets on debut against Australia in the Perth Test, is also included in the squad, while Abbas Afridi, who took the most wickets in PSL 2023, will also be selected for the first time.
Sources say that team captain Shan Masood will also be a part of the T20 squad in the Test format and spin bowler Abrar Ahmed’s inclusion in the squad is subject to fitness.
Remember that the T20 series between Pakistan and New Zealand will start from January 12. Shaheen Shah Afridi will lead the Pakistan T20 team.
