The audit report of the civil hospital revealed the embezzlement of crores of rupees

Karachi: Dr. Syed Khalid Bukhari, Medical Superintendent of Dr. Rath KM Faw Civil Hospital, Karachi, has said that the audit report of the hospital for the last two years has revealed financial losses of crores of rupees.

These views were expressed by the medical superintendent while talking to journalists in his office on Friday. He said that many departments of the central store of the hospital were under the management of a group involved in corruption and scams, who used to undercharge and display drugs, injections, machinery, surgical instruments and other equipment in the hospital.

He said that patient care was directly affected by corruption and fraud. He said that on the actions against these infamous employees involved in irregularities and corruption, a group is continuing to vilify them on social media, but they will not consider any such tactics.

He further said that under the direction of caretaker Health Minister Sindh Dr. Saad Khalid, pharmacists have been appointed in all departments of the hospital store instead of these employees, which is an important step towards improving management and preventing further financial losses.

Appointed qualified pharmacists including Dr. Sameera Jabeen, Dr. Sarwat, Dr. Hina Ahmed, and Dr. Sidra Imtiaz to key positions within the store while forming a committee to investigate irregularities and corruption that will submit a report on the employees involved.

He expressed hope that these measures would improve patient care, make medicines readily available and help implement an efficient, controllable and accountable system.
