Lahore: During the crackdown against smoke emitting vehicles, 5 thousand 137 vehicles were stopped and challan tickets were issued to 12 thousand 765 vehicles.
On the orders of CTO Lahore Mustansar Feroze, a crackdown was carried out against vehicles emitting smoke, during which 5137 vehicles were stopped in different police stations of the city, while challan tickets of Rs.2,2000 were also issued to 12765 vehicles.
Dumpers, trolleys and other loader vehicles without tarpaulin, without cover are also being stopped while vehicles spreading dust, mud, sand and other dirt on the highways are also being challaned.
Lahore Traffic Police is taking action along with Environment Department and other allied departments.
According to CTO Lahore, special gates have been installed at the entrances and exits of the city even at night, and the big and loader vehicles coming into the city ahead of time are being specially checked.
He said that action is being taken against the vehicles with sand and mud without tarpaulin and without cover, vehicles emitting sand, mud and smoke are causing environmental pollution.
According to CTO Lahore, DSP Model Town Soy Asal and DSP Sadar Thokarniaz Baig are taking action while DSP Shahdara Ravi Pul and DSP Mughalpura are taking action in Harbanspora and Manawan.
