Order to seal factories emitting black smoke
The Lahore High Court issued a directive to the PDMA to implement an immediate smog emergency across the city. The court declared that smog is not mine, it is the problem of all our children. Factories emitting black smoke should be sealed.
Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court heard the petitions filed for smog remedy.
Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Randhawa and other officers appeared before the court.
The court directed the children of all the schools, colleges to report factories emitting black smoke if there is any factory emitting black smoke in their areas.
The court issued further instructions that Commissioner Lahore and other officers should go to schools and colleges from tomorrow and inform the children.
Justice Shahid Karim expressed his displeasure over the current situation of smog and convinced that the government is responsible for smog. Look at the state of the city, you are the owner of the city, you can do everything.
Justice Shahid Karim remarked that earlier this smog used to come at the end of November and December, now this smog has started in October.
Justice Shahid Karim issued a directive to PDMA for immediate implementation of smog emergency across the city and adjourned the hearing till November 3.
