Karachi: 3 workers of MQM were acquitted in the case of rocket attack on Sindh Secretariat.
The Special Anti-Terrorism Court acquitted MQM’s Saeed Bharam, Faheem Mirchi and Nasir Khaji in the 1995 rocket launcher attack case on Sindh Secretariat, 29 years later.
A special court at the Anti-Terrorism Complex in the Karachi Central Jail delivered the verdict in the case of the 1995 rocket launcher attack on the Sindh Secretariat after 29 years. Once again, the prosecution failed to convict MQM’s Saeed Bharam and others, upon which the court acquitted Saeed Bharam, Faheem Mirchi and Nasir Khaji.
The court ordered that the accused should be released if they are not named in any other case. According to the prosecution, the accused had attacked the Sindh Secretariat with a rocket launcher in 1995. The offices of then minister Nisar Khoro and others were destroyed in the attack, later the law enforcement agency arrested MQM’s Faheem alias Mirchi and Nasir alias Khaji in 2016. The accused said that Saeed Bharam used to supply the weapons for the incidents.
A case was registered against the accused at the Artillery Maidan police station.
