Dharamsala: In another upset in the ICC World Cup 2023, Netherlands beat South Africa by 38 runs.

Chasing down 246 runs by the Netherlands, South Africa were bowled out for 207 runs in 42.5 overs in the match played at the historic stadium in Dharamsala on Tuesday. Earlier, Afghanistan created history by defeating defending champions England by 69 runs.

South Africa’s innings:

South Africa’s batting line-up proved to be a wall of sand in front of the Netherlands. Except for David Miller, none of the players could score remarkable runs. Openers Quinton de Kock scored 20 runs and Temba Bwuma scored 16 runs and returned to the pavilion.

Joonbey Africa’s third wicket fell at a total score of 42. Aiden Markram was dismissed for 1 run. On a total score of 44, Rasi van der Dusen also went on to score 4 runs.

Henrik Klaasen scored 28 runs, Marco Johnson scored 9 runs and David Miller scored 43 runs. Gerald Coetzee scored 22 runs and Kagiso Rabada scored only 9 runs. Keshav Maharaj scored 40 runs while Lungi Ngidi remained not out scoring 7 runs.

Aryan Dutt remained not out with 23 and captain Scott Edwards with 78 runs.

South Africa’s Langi Ngadi, Makro Jansen and Kagiso Rabada took two wickets each while Gerald Coetzee and Keshu Maharaj took one wicket each.

Earlier, the captain of the South African team, Tamba Bauma, had won the toss and decided to field. He said that no changes have been made in the team.

On this occasion, the captain of the Netherlands, Scott Edwards, said that an effort will be made to put the Proteas under pressure by setting a big target.

The toss was delayed as the outfield was wet due to rain, while the match between the two teams was restricted to 43, 43 overs.
