Islamabad: CTD arrested 800 Afghans from Islamabad and its surroundings while conducting a search operation along with sensitive agencies.
Search operations were conducted against Afghans in Bihara Kahu, Tarnool, Mehrabadian, Golra, Shams Colony and other areas.
Among the arrested Afghan nationals, 400 were released on proof of residence, while 375 Afghan nationals were detained without any identity documents.
Additionally, 25 Afghan nationals have been detained pending document verification while 375 Afghan nationals will be sent across the border once the process is completed.
Prior to the operation, lists were also compiled on the basis of classified information, in which many criminal Afghan nationals have been identified. The operation will be accelerated in the coming days.
