Islamabad: Pakistan has strongly condemned another incident of desecration of Holy Quran in Netherlands and demanded the European country to take immediate action against such hateful and Islamophobic acts.
According to Express News, the Foreign Office said in a press release that Pakistan condemns in the strongest possible terms the latest desecration of the Holy Quran by the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in The Hague, Netherlands. including in front of Pakistani embassies.
The Foreign Office added that the deliberately provocative and Islamophobic act has hurt the sentiments of Muslims around the world. Such actions cannot be condoned under the guise of freedom of expression, opinion and protest.
Earlier, the Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah It was reported that Edwin Wagensveld, who heads the Dutch branch of the Dutch far-right group Pegida, desecrated the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish, Pakistani and Indonesian embassies in The Hague.
