Upgradation of Lahore Zoo, Safari Park, Summary sent to Election Commission

Lahore: The summary for upgrading the zoo and safari park has been sent to the Election Commission for approval.

The project to bring new animals and change the structure in the two main entertainment centers of Lahore has been estimated at five billion rupees. The caretaker government has approved the project, but now the Election Commission will examine whether the caretaker government has the authority to spend so much money on the upgradation projects of zoos.

Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi approved the upgradation of Lahore Zoo and Safari Park to provide world-class recreational facilities to the citizens. The Chief Minister had expressed his desire to complete this project in four months, but sources say that this upgradation project will now be completed in two years.

Under the project, panda, hippopotamus, rhinoceros, African pigeon, black jaguar, puma, chilatan markhor and other animals and birds will be added to the zoo and safari park. New species of snakes and snakes will also be brought to Lahore Zoo. Various species of elephant, rhinoceros, giraffe, zebra, ostrich and deer will be added to the safari park.

The Lahore Zoo and Safari Park will also house 142 species of marine life in the aquarium and create world-class cages for the animals.

Also, for the first time in Pakistan, a zoo will be able to see rare species of animals through virtual reality using hologram technology. The existing entrance of the zoo towards Mall Road will be removed and a new entrance will be made from the parking area. The crocodile pond will be completed and the ticket house will be built here while a bridge will be built over the lake over which citizens will enter the zoo.

Similarly, the African Zone, Desert and Salt Ranges will be created in the Safari Park and Night Safari will be introduced, making special hits for the stay in the Safari Park.

The paper work of both the projects has been completed and now the summary has been sent to the Election Commission for approval. The Election Commission will examine whether the caretaker government can spend the huge sum of five billion rupees on these projects and whether these projects are so important that they can be started immediately.

According to the Punjab Wildlife officials, the Finance Department will release the funds after the approval of the Election Commission. Sources said that if the Election Commission does not approve the project, then Lahore Zoo will complete some important works including expanding the parking lot of the zoo from its annual development funds.
