In the meeting of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the Additional Secretary said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had given instructions to inaugurate the project ‘Brand Pakistan’, which was started in the previous regime for the promotion of tourism.
In the meeting, MD of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Aftab Rehman Rana said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed the inauguration with some changes in Brand Pakistan.
He says that after Eid-ul-Fitr, Brand Pakistan will be inaugurated in the tourism conference, the web portal of Brand Pakistan will be established, where the information of all the tourist places of the country will be available.
MDPTDC termed the idea of Brand Pakistan as great for promoting tourism and said that videos of tourist spots will also be available on the Brand Pakistan portal.
He said that Pakistan is currently earning 900 million dollars annually from tourism, but the target is to increase the annual revenue of tourism to 2 to 3 billion dollars in the next 2 years.
The Standing Committee Cabinet Secretariat issued a directive and said that along with the promotion of holy places and heritage of all religions, the archeology of Gandhara civilization should also be promoted on Brand Pakistan.
