Islamabad: Caretaker Federal Minister for Information Technology Dr. Umar Saif says that 5G is going to auction in the next few months and is taking steps to provide better telecom services in the country.
According to the Ministry of Information Technology, he said this while talking to CEO Jaz Amir Ibrahim, who came for a meeting on Thursday. In the meeting, there was a discussion regarding 5G spectrum auction, timeline and provision of telecom services.
Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Information Technology Umar Saif said that the 5G auction is going to be held in the next few months and they are taking steps to provide better telecom services in the country.
He said that customers do not get good service due to limited bandwidth offer, 5G will provide better and quality telecom services to customers.
According to the Ministry of IT, earlier, Dr. Umar Saif has had separate meetings with the CEO of U Phone and Zong. The purpose of the meetings with the CEOs of the cellular companies is to inform the telecom companies about the preparations for the 5G auction and prepare the market for the 5G auction.
