Peshawar: During the hearing of the petition filed in the High Court against the extradition of a Pakistani citizen to America, the court has said that if it is proved that he (the petitioner) was arrested by the police, then they will file an FIR against the police.
Chief Justice Muhammad Ibrahim Khan heard the petition filed against the extradition of a Pakistani citizen to America in the Peshawar High Court.
The petitioner’s lawyer Shah Faisal Atmanakhil Advocate said that the petitioner has been missing for several months, the police picked him up from Nowshera, he was arrested by the police, whose CCTV camera footage is available.
Shah Faisal Atmanakhil Advocate further said that the petitioner is accused of being involved in human trafficking, the Pakistani agencies conducted an inquiry against the petitioner but no charges of human trafficking were proved against him.
The lawyer said that the United States has offered money for the extradition of the petitioner, that the person who handed it over will get the money.
He further said that three police vehicles intercepted the petitioner and since then he is missing, after the arrest the police reported in newspaper and media that the famous human trafficker has been arrested.
After listening to Shah Faisal Atmanakhil Advocate, Chief Justice Mohammad Ibrahim Khan said that when they say that we don’t have it, then what should we do. He further said that it should not happen that this person has reached there.
On this, the lawyer for the petitioner said that when they say that we don’t have it, then according to the footage in the CCTV cameras, did they come to meet them just for gossip? He further said that till now the police has not traced this vehicle while the number of the vehicle has also been given.
Chief Justice Muhammad Ibrahim Khan told the petitioner’s lawyer that the news channels and newspapers who have done this, we will ask them, if it is proved that they were arrested by the police, then FI against the police. R will be entered.
The court adjourned the hearing while seeking CCTV camera footage data from the private bank.
