A decision could not be reached between the IMF and the Ministry of Finance to reduce the gas sector revolving debt


No decision could be reached between the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Finance Ministry on the scheme to reduce the revolving debt of the gas sector.

According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, the IMF did not respond to the draft of the dividend plug-in back scheme.

Sources said that Pakistan had given a plan to reduce the revolving debt of the gas sector by 400 billion rupees through the dividend plug-in back scheme.

Sources said Pakistani authorities will reintroduce the dividend plug-in back scheme with the IMF in the economic review.

Sources said that the plan to reduce the revolving debt of the gas sector was prepared with the consent of the IMF.

Sources further said that under the plan, dividends of OGDC, PPL, GHPL were to be adjusted in revolving credit.
