The United Nations stopped ration aid for 2 million Afghans

bill to: The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) has cut off ration aid for another two million Afghans this month since March.

Hsiao Wei Li, the agency’s country director, said the UN World Food Program (WFP) had to cut rations for an additional 2 million Afghans this month as funds for remote populations ran out. If it goes, it will be disastrous.

The ration cuts come amid threats of a cut in aid to Afghanistan, where the UN’s World Food Organization provides just a quarter of its funding.

WFP’s funding for food and cash aid is expected to run out by the end of October, while the agency is facing ongoing cuts in aid to 10 million Afghans throughout the year.

Food is restricted in winter cutoff areas. WFP said 90 percent of civilians in needy remote areas would go without food if no funding was received. Even in accessible locations, people will have no supplies during extreme weather.
