Rawalpindi / Tashkent: Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir met with President of Uzbekistan, Minister of Defense and Chairman and Secretary of State Security Service and discussed increasing military cooperation between the two countries.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir arrived on a two-day official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan. Where he had important meetings with important personalities including Uzbek President, Minister of Defense.
According to ISPR, the purpose of the visit to Uzbekistan is to enhance military and defense cooperation.
During the meetings, the Army Chief stressed on increasing mutual training cooperation and intelligence sharing while praising the quality of training and preparation of the military forces of Uzbekistan.
Upon arrival at the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan, General Syed Asim Munir received a warm welcome where the armed forces saluted the Army Chief, later the Chief of Army Staff laid a wreath at the martyrs’ memorial in Tashkent and paid tribute to the martyrs. .
