Rawalpindi: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Commercial Banking Circle conducted a raid in Chakwal and arrested two suspects involved in the illegal business of Handi Pasha and recovered currency worth more than three crore rupees.
According to the officials, a team of FIA Commercial Backing Circle headed by Deputy Director Rizwan Shah raided Aray Bazar Road Chakwal on a tip-off and arrested 2 accused Sajjad Hussain and Muhammad Waleed involved in handi reference and seized 3 9 million rupees were recovered.
Documents, messages, mobile phones and several receipts were also recovered from the accused. The accused could not give adequate answers regarding the currency exported and were found to be involved in illegal exchange of currency without a license.
According to FIA, a case has been registered against the accused and the investigation has been started. The officials further said that the accused were running a large network of quoting handi in Rawalpindi division and the crackdown will continue against the companies and elements involved in the buying and selling of illegal currency.
