Sindh Police's decision to provide data on criminals of the province to federal investigative agencies

Karachi: The Sindh Police has also decided to provide the data of the Sindh criminals to the federal investigation agencies so that the criminals residing in other provinces can be brought to justice.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Information Technology Pervaiz Ahmad Chandio said that Sindh Rangers and other law enforcement agencies have requested access to the “Talaash” app from Sindh Police in order to narrow the circle around criminals.

According to the details, in a letter written by the Sindh Rangers and other law enforcement agencies to the Sindh Police, Sindh Police’s digital application “Search” which contains the data of criminals was appreciated.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Information Technology Parvez Ahmad Chandio told Express News that Sindh Police has compiled 17 million digital records and the digital records include criminal records of criminals, suspicious and stolen vehicles and federal investigative agencies. We have been requested to provide search app.

He said that with the efforts of IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, modern one-window operation style device ‘Talash’ is being provided to the police stations to reduce the fear of police and police stations from the province.

Parvez Ahmad Chandio said that ‘Talash’ is a mobile investigation center, now during police checking, raids or combing operation on the streets, there will be no need to take an innocent citizen to the police station, but with the help of ‘Talash’ the decision will be made. Hand in hand will be on the streets.

He said that Criminal Record Office (CROs) of Sindh and Punjab, NADRA, Excise Department, online records of court cases, driving license branches, online data of police stations, records of all mobile phone companies, hotel management. The records of hotels across the country and the data of Karachi’s registered domestic workers have also been provided online in the device.

Deputy Inspector General Police Information Technology Sindh has also said that through this device all data will be available through any citizen’s mobile phone number, identity card number or biometric.
