Order restraining the federal government from allotting residences to senior civil servants

Islamabad: The High Court ordered the federal government to stop allotting residences to senior civil servants.

Justice Babar Sattar issued an 11-page written order in the case of allotment of residences to senior civil servants of grades 21 and 22 in the federal government without merit list, in which the court restrained the federal government from making allotments till the next hearing. gave

The court summoned the secretaries of the Ministry of Housing and the Ministry of Law to the Islamabad High Court on September 1. During the hearing, the court said that it is alleged that allotments were made to the approved servants for important positions in the federal government by ignoring the merit list. The court asked for a report from the federal government to tell under which rules the allotments were made?

According to the written order, the report did not provide all the information, which was sought by the court. In view of Badi-Nazar, the information provided is an attempt to mislead the court. According to the court instructions, the affidavit of the secretary of the Ministry of Housing was not submitted.

In its order, the court said that it was informed that the new Secretary Housing has taken charge and his health is not well today. Secretary Housing should appear in person at the next hearing and answer the court’s questions. Secretary Housing resubmits the report and affidavit that the information provided is complete and correct.
