Islamabad: The caretaker chief minister of Punjab has set up an investigation committee of top police officers on the scandal of indecent photos in Islamia University Bahawalpur, while the standing committee of the National Assembly has directed to issue a warrant for the VC in case of non-appearance.

According to Express News, a meeting of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Education and Vocational Training was held under the chairmanship of Makhdoom Syed Sami Al Hasan. The committee expressed its anger on the vice chancellor of Islamia University Bahawalpur for not coming to the meeting on the issue of indecent photos.

The Standing Committee directed to issue a warrant to the Vice Chancellor of Islamia University Bahawalpur. Chairman HEC said that the Vice Chancellor of Islamia University Bahawalpur does not listen to anyone.

The Standing Committee took strict notice of the presence of indecent photographs of female students with the security in-charge of the Jamia and summoned DPO Bahalpur to the next meeting of the Standing Committee.

Chairman Standing Committee said that such incidents cannot be tolerated in higher educational institutions. The Standing Committee directed that the Chairman HEC should monitor the entire matter.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has formed a 3-member inquiry committee on the scandal of buying and selling drugs and indecent photos in Islamia University Bahawalpur.

The committee includes Secretary Minerals Babar Aman Babar, DIG Amin Bukhari and DIG Raja Faisal. The committee will investigate the Islamia University Bahawalpur incident from all aspects. The committee will determine the persons involved in the incident and submit its report to the Chief Minister of Punjab.
