The attack of 8 terrorists on Sarband Riaz Shaheed police station in Peshawar was foiled, the attackers escaped due to retaliatory firing by the officials.
According to the police, there was no loss of life in the attack, as soon as the information about the attack was received, a heavy police force reached the spot.
SP Cantt Waqas Rafiq says that 8 terrorists were approaching the check post by taking advantage of the darkness, the terrorists failed to approach due to the alert of the police.
He said that the terrorist attack was repelled by high alert and timely retaliatory fire.
Terrorists had earlier attacked this checkpoint on June 7 as well.
This is the fourth incident of terrorism in Peshawar and Khyber in 48 hours.
On the other hand, the funeral prayers of 3 police personnel who were martyred in the Tehsil compound explosion of Khyber were performed.
