The reason for the train accident that occurred in the Balasore district of the Indian state of Orissa has come to light.
According to Indian media reports, investigations into the train accident revealed that faulty connections made during repair work on a railway barrier in the automatic signaling system for the railway network led to the worst train accident.
Officials of the Commission of Railway Safety (CRS) said in the investigation report that the first collision occurred due to changes made in the signaling circuit.
The investigation report also stated that the local railway staff did not have a standard circuit diagram, which led to malfunctions in the signaling system.
It should be noted that India has the fourth largest railway network in the world which is run by the Indian Railway Board and this board reports to the Ministry of Railways of India.
It should be noted that last month in Balasore district of Orissa state of India, a terrible accident took place when 2 passengers and a freight train collided with each other. About 288 people died in this accident while more than 1000 people were injured.
The Indian Railways had demanded a CBI inquiry into the train accident to find out the cause of the accident.
