K Electric is in default of NTDC since 2018 but its license is not cancelled, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi
Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has demanded the national custody of the company that provides electricity to Karachi.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said in a news conference that there is in the Nepra rules that if there is a defaulter in an area, K Electric cannot cut off the electricity of the area, but the Nepra rules are not implemented.
Hafiz Naeem said that K Electric is in default of National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) since 2018 but its license is not revoked.
He said that this time, K Electric was given a subsidy of 170 billion rupees from the national treasury, but it does not benefit the people, K Electric should be taken into national custody and forensic audit should be done.
